The First Call

One late-winter morning on Tranøy, AWEBO makes the first call of spring, and the north wakes up.

The four birds are the AWEBO world. AWEBO (male willow ptarmigan) and AWEBE (female willow ptarmigan), AREBO (male rock ptarmigan) and AREBE (female rock ptarmigan) live on a fell in northern Norway, inspired by the real ptarmigans around Tranøy in Nordland. The handmade AWEBO wool birds and AWEBO Cards come from this world.
